Nalanda University :- 90 kms away from Patna is the seat of ancient learning, the ruins of the famouns Nalanda University. Scholars and students came here from all over the Asia.

Vikramshila University :- Famous Vikramshila University is of Pala period, and can thus be assigned to 10th – 12th centuries A.D. is located in the district of Bhagalpur. A very extensive area dotted with caved pillars, votive stupas and mounds with ruins.

Mahabodhi Temple :- The Mahabodhi Temple stands east to the Bodhi Tree.Its architectural effect is superb.Its basement is 48 square feet and it rises in the form of a slender Pyramid ,till it reaches its neck,which is cylindrical in shape.The total heights of the temple is 170 feet.

Ashoka Pillar :- The lion pillar at Kolhua, built by emperor Ashoka. A life size figure of a lion is placed on top of the pillar.

Kesariya :- Dating back to 200 to 700 A.D. Kesariya Stupa is considered the tallest Buddhist Stupa in the world with the diameter of 68ft and height 90ft..

Shanti Stupa : – This Stupa of Peace was built by Japanese in recent years on the top of Griddhakuta Hill. An aerial Ropeway provides the link in a verdant valley surrounded by rocky hills in Rajgir. Once a great city, Rajgir is just a Village today,


Harmandir ji :- This shrine consecrates the birthplace of the tenth religious preceptor of the Sikh faith, Guru Govind Singh. Originally built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, a ruler of the Punjab, Harmandirji is one of the holiest Sikh Shrines.

Shaheed Smarak :- Life-size statues in front of the old secretariat compound have been put up in memory of seven brave young men who sacrificed their lives in August 1942 in the historic struggle for India's Independence.

Jal Mandir :- 114 km from Bodhgaya, Pawapuri or the sinless city is a great pilgrimage centre of the Jains. Lord Mahavir Tirthankar, the greatest propounder of jainism had given his last sermon here and was cremated here.

Surya Mandir :- The Temple Situated near Aurangabad, Deo is the most ancient of all sites where the legendary King Aila of Pravaga (Allahabad) was cured of Leprosy.

Madhubani Paintings :- Madhubani paintings are indigenous to the state. Created strictly by the women of Mithila, they are etched in primary colours of natural origin on paper and cloth. Their subjects are mythology and religious events.

Golghar :- This huge 29m high and impressive beehive-shaped structure was constructed in july 1786 by Captain John Garstin following a terriable femine in 1770, to serve as a state granary.

Chandi Mandir :- Located in village Viratpur 5 kms from Sonvarsa, This ancient temple of 11th centuries is famous from its connections with Mahabharata Period. Where hundreds of thousands of worshipers come to pray every year.
